Sevenly (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Sevenly mobile application and the website at sevenlypro.com(together, the “Service”). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. By using Sevenly you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you sign up via Google we receive your name, email, and Google profile ID — we never see your Google password.

Profile data (optional)

You may choose to add a date of birth, biological sex, bio,timezone, profile photo, and mission statement. All of these fields are optional and can be removed at any time.

Content you create

We store the goals, milestones, habits, journal entries (including mood and gratitude), relationship notes, event dates, weekly plans, and life-area scores you create inside the app. This content is private to your account and is not shared with any other user.

Payment information

Payments are processed by IntaSend (Kenya). We never store your card number, M-Pesa PIN, or any raw payment credentials. We retain a transaction reference, the plan purchased, the amount paid, and the payment status for billing and support purposes.

Usage and device data

We may collect anonymised usage data such as feature interactions and app crashes to improve the Service. We do not sell this data or link it to your identity for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service — store your goals, habits, and journal entries and make them available across your devices.
  • Account authentication — verify your identity when you log in.
  • Subscription management — process payments, activate plan benefits, and send billing receipts.
  • Push and WhatsApp reminders — send the habit and goal reminders you configure inside the app. WhatsApp reminders are only sent to the number you provide and only on paid plans.
  • Product updates and tips — if you opt in during sign-up, we may email you occasional product news and usage tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Support — respond to questions or bug reports you send us.
  • Security and fraud prevention — detect and prevent unauthorised access or abuse.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following third-party service providers, and only to the extent necessary to operate the Service:

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (for example, payment transaction logs which we keep for 7 years for tax compliance).

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password for your Sevenly account.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to our processing your data for marketing purposes.

7. Children

Sevenly is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app at least 7 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
